Car and jewellery stolen during New Year's Eve break-in at home in Bridgend

Jewellery of "great sentimental value" and a Ford Fiesta were stolen from a house on New Year's Eve.

The break-in happened sometime overnight on December 31 at a house in Ewenny Road in Bridgend .

The thief broke into the property and stole a number of personal possessions including several items of jewellery with great sentimental value. This included a silver bracelet inscribed with 'All my love, Dad x' and a silver necklace with a blue pendant.

A red Ford Fiesta was also taken but was later recovered having been abandoned on Bridgend Industrial Estate near the junction of South Road and Queens Road the following morning.

Officers investigating the burglary are appealing to anyone who may have information which will assist them or who may have been offered any of the stolen items of jewellery.
