Jewel-coloured interiors: IG accounts upping the drama with rich gemstone tones

As the evenings draw in, make your interiors shine bright like a diamond (see also: emerald, ruby or sapphire) with sumptuous jewel tones.

These deep, decadent shades work naturally together to make for a rich-looking room, no matter your budget. If you’re not feeling full-on gemstone tones, add neutrals to soften things up – or just use bejewelled brights for a dramatic colour pop with cushions and rugs.

And if you don’t want to redecorate right now, try switching up the tablescape at your next dinner party. Not only will this make things feel extra luxe (whatever you dish up to eat), but it’s inherently Instagrammable.

Ready to strike it rich? These five IG accounts show you how.

@mindy_schroor

Sapphire meets amethyst in one of the most sumptuous spaces on the ‘gram. Plus, spot the disco ball for added sparkle.

While Netherlands-based Mindy embraces floor-to-ceiling colour, her use of varying tones of the same shade swerves overkill.

@palomahome

Unleash your inner maximalist with Paloma Faith’s homeware range, which is as decadent as you’d expect.

We’re particularly impressed by the singer’s wallpaper line – especially this eye-catching Oriental Leaves print in ruby red. Leopard print sofa optional.

@matthewwilliamson

Peacocks and paisley are always a good idea, from the CEO of jewel tones, Matthew Williamson.

Renowned for his kaleidoscopic use of vibrant colour, the former fashion designer’s feed is a mix of inspiration pics, new products and snippets from his own home in Spain.

@violetmay38

We’re low-key obsessed with this striking emerald nook in Violet’s dressing room. Despite being a small space, the tone-on-tone colour brings all the drama.

Head to the rest of the grid to peep the gold leaf stairs – yeah, you heard right. The perfect accompaniment to jewels, ofc.

@loscarlondon

L’oscar London’s brand new Baptist Bar serves up deliciously decadent surroundings, as well as cocktails (inspired by the seven deadly sins).

In fact, the whole hotel – set in an old church and designed by decorateur Jacques Garcia – is one of Holborn’s gems (pun totally intended), full of sumptuous velvet and peacock-inspired artwork.
