Jevon Holland still in COVID protocol, will not practice Wednesday

The Miami Dolphins were without two of their best players against the New York Jets on Sunday, but they got good news when wide receiver Jaylen Waddle cleared the league’s COVID-19 protocols the following day.

Unfortunately, rookie safety Jevon Holland has yet to clear those same protocols and will not practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Brian Flores.

Holland’s situation has been a bit confusing, as he tested positive over a week ago and was removed from the COVID list on the Saturday before the Jets game. Holland was only removed from the list with the hope that he would test out on Sunday. If the Dolphins hadn’t taken him off the list on Saturday by 4 p.m. and he then tested out on Sunday, he still wouldn’t have been able to play.

We’re not sure when Holland will return to the team, but with plenty of time before Monday night’s game, there’s an opportunity for him to do so.
