The NFL is filled with sons of former football players, so it’s not all that surprising when you find out that a player is the offspring of a talented player.
Jevon Holland is the son of Robert Holland, a former Grey Cup champion for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League. While being a second-round pick is a height that his father wasn’t able to reach, the younger Holland still looks up to his dad.
However, during his Monday media availability, Holland was asked to compare his ball skills to his father’s, and he gave him a little ribbing.
“My ball skills are way better than my dad’s by far,” he said with a smile. “I played receiver in high school. I lowkey went crazy in high school at receiver.”
Holland’s start to his career has been a steady climb to consistent snaps, but, just 10 games into the season, he’s on the field nearly every play. It’s not just that he’s out there, he’s making an impact.
The former Oregon Duck hasn’t gotten many chances to show off those ball skills with just one interception, but if he continues playing the way he has, he’ll have a few more to brag to his father about.
