Jets vs. Patriots inactives: C.J. Mosley returns, Henry Anderson misses second straight game

After a month spent on the mend, C.J. Mosley is finally back.

New York’s $85 million man returns to the field against the Patriots on Monday night after missing the Jets’ last four games with a groin injury. Mosley’s return comes at the perfect time, as New England’s high power offense comes to town and fellow inside linebacker Neville Hewitt sits with a neck injury. Joining Hewitt on the sideline in Week 7 are starters Henry Anderson, Kelvin Beachum, Kelechi Osemele and Chris Herndon, as well as return specialist Trenton Cannon.

With Hewitt out, Blake Cashman starts opposite of Mosley for the first time in his career. Chuma Edoga takes Beachum’s spot at left tackle, while Alexis Lewis fills in at guard for Osemele. The Jets will continue to run through their deep defensive line rotation with Anderson out, while Ryan Griffin remains New York’s starting tight end as Herndon works his way back from a hamstring injury.

As for the Patriots, they will be without starting wide receiver Josh Gordon, running back Rex Burkhead, tight end Matt LaCosse and safety Patrick Chung. Defensive end Michael Bennett is also inactive due to a suspension. Wide receivers Julian Edelman and Phillip Dorsett are active after being listed as questionable throughout the week.
