The New York Jets will look to get in the win column against the Philadelphia Eagles as they come off their bye week.
The Jets didn’t get the news that they were hoping for with quarterback Sam Darnold. He was not medically cleared for contact on Friday and has been ruled out for Sunday’s contest in Philadelphia. That means Luke Falk will get his second straight start after a lackluster performance against the Patriots in Week 3.
Gang Green will likely be without a couple members of their defense as well. Linebacker Jordan Jenkins (calf) has already been ruled out, while C.J. Mosley (groin) is listed as doubtful. On offense, guard Kelechi Osemele (shoulder) is also doubtful.
The Jets have to get creative if they want to compete in this game. The offense against the Patriots was predictable and they couldn’t move the football. It’s time for Adam Gase to open up the playbook and allow Falk to take some shots down the field. What do they have to lose?
As for the Eagles, they are dealing with injuries of their own. They are down two cornerbacks in Ronald Darby (hamstring) and Avonte Maddox (concussion/neck). DeSean Jackson (abdomen) and Timmy Jurnigan (foot) are out as well.
