Could Week 6 be the week the Jets pick up their first win of the season?
New York plays host to the NFC East-leading Cowboys on Sunday, so it’s going to take a lot for Gang Green to accomplish that task. However, anything can happen on any given Sunday and with the Jets getting healthy at a key position, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that they emerge victoriously for the first time in 2019.
So, what should Jets fans know heading into Sunday? Let’s take a look at some key points to keep an eye on with Dallas coming to town.
Sam Darnold’s return

The Jets finally have their franchise quarterback back under center.
After a month spent on the sideline dealing with mono, Sam Darnold returns in Week 6 against the Cowboys. It goes without saying that Darnold’s return boosts New York’s offense tremendously, but it also raises the possibility that the Jets can salvage what has been a lost season to this point.
Whether Sunday’s game goes well or completely off the rails, it’s certainly a step in the right direction that Darnold is healthy back on the field.
A tall task for the defense

New York’s defense will have its hands full when the Cowboys take the field on Sunday.
Dallas currently ranks first in total yards (452.8), fourth in pass yards (312) and sixth in rushing yards per game (140.8). With Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliot, Amari Cooper and others in the mix, the Cowboys have plenty of weapons that can burn the Jets.
Considering how bad New York’s defense has been this season, it’s hard to see Gang Green completely stifling the Cowboys’ offensive attack. At this point, all they can do is hope to contain them.
Injuries Aplenty

The Cowboys aren’t as banged up as the Jets, but they’re still dealing with injuries to a handful of key players.
Tyron Smith (ankle), La’el Collins (knee) and Randall Cobb (hip/back) are all questionable and have not practiced all week. Sean Lee (knee) also missed practice on Friday, but does not currently have an injury designation.
As for the Jets, Henry Anderson (shoulder), Kelechi Osemele (shoulder/knee), Trenton Cannon (foot/ankle) and C.J. Mosley (groin) are all listed as doubtful.
Two-game winning streak

The Jets have had their fair share of success against the Cowboys recently.
New York is currently riding a two-game winning streak against Dallas, winning the last two meetings between the two teams. Gang Green’s most recent triumph over the Cowboys came in 2015, a 19-16 victory in Dallas.
