Jets to pick 11th in 2020 NFL draft

Let the mock drafts begin.

The Jets hold the No. 11 pick in the first round of the 2020 draft as the order for non-playoff teams has been set. It is the first time in franchise history that the Jets have picked 11th.

New York also has one pick in the second round, two picks in the third round, one pick in the fourth round, one pick in the fifth round and one pick in the sixth round.

With the regular season complete, the attention now turns to general manager Joe Douglas. It’ll be his first offseason running after he was hired in June and he has his work cut out for him, as the Jets have plenty of holes they need to address in the offseason.

New York’s first-round pick will go a long way in accomplishing Douglas’ goal of building from the ground up through the draft. He can go a variety of ways with this pick as the Jets need offensive line help, cornerbacks and a No. 1 wide receiver.

Douglas and his front office staff have about four months to scout college prospects and prepare for the draft. Until then, it’ll be going to the combine, private workouts and pro days in order to find the next New York’s next first-round selection.
