Jets sign LS Thomas Hennessy to four-year extension

The Jets have secured their longer snapper for the next four seasons.

The team announced Saturday afternoon that it has reached an agreement on a four-year extension worth $4.4 million Thomas Hennessy. The deal includes $1.15 million guaranteed and a $625,000 signing bonus, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Hennessy was set to be a restricted free agent after this season and is the team’s leading tackler on special teams with five. In 35 games, Hennessy has 35 total tackles and one forced fumble. He has yet to miss a game in the Green & White.

The 25-year-old long snapper went undrafted out of Duke in 2017 before being signed by the Colts. In August of 2017, Hennessy was traded to the Jets in exchange for safety Ronald Martin.
