Jets sign Frankie Luvu, De’Angelo Henderson to exclusive rights tenders

Frankie Luvu and De’Angelo Henderson Sr. will be back with the Jets next season.

The team announced Tuesday that both Luvu and Henderson Sr. signed their exclusive rights tenders. When an ERFA is tendered, they have no choice but to sign it.

Luvu was a rookie last season out of Washington State and showed that he has potential. Luvu appeared in 14 games, getting one start, and had 22 combined tackles. In addition, he registered three sacks to go along with one pass defense.

As for Henderson Sr., he was originally a sixth-round pick by the Broncos in 2017 out of Coastal Carolina. Henderson Sr. didn’t get a whole lot of playing time in Denver, appearing in just five games in 2017. In those games, he had seven carries for 13 yards as well as 36 receiving yards and a touchdown. He was waived right before the start of the 2018 season.

The Jets signed Henderson Sr. to their practice squad; he was on and off it before finally appearing in the final game if the 2018 season against the Patriots. He had two rushes for 19 yards and a fumble.
