Jets sign former Cowboy QB Mike White to practice squad

With a a lack of depth under center, the Jets announced Wednesday that they signed quarterback Mike White to their practice squad.

With Luke Falk on the active roster and Sam Darnold working his way back from mononucleosis, White, while currently assigned to the practice squad, provides some reassurance if the team finds itself needing it.

Despite being selected in the fifth-round of the 2018 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys, White was waived on Aug. 31. The Western Kentucky product did spend all of last season in Dallas despite not playing in a single game.

White completed 59.5 percent of his passes this preseason, paired with 305 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

As a Hilltopper, White threw for 8,540 yards, 61 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 27 competitions. He proved to be accurate in college, completing 66.4 percent of his passes.
