Jets sign ex-Chiefs running back Charcandrick West

The Jets signed former Chiefs running back Charcandrick West, who was waived by Kansas City two days ago.

West, 27, totaled 999 yards rushing and seven touchdowns in four seasons with Kansas City. He also caught 75 passes for 552 and five TDs. He led the team in rushing with 634 yards on 160 carries in 2015.

The Jets, who face the Giants on Friday in a preseason game, now have seven running backs on the roster: Bilal Powell, Isaiah Crowell, Elijah McGuire, Thomas Rawls, Trenton Cannon, George Atkinson III and West. They are looking for a No. 3 back after McGuire broke his foot in training camp.

West compiled 222 rushing and received yards and four touchdowns last season with Kansas City.
