Jets set to sign RB Le’Veon Bell to 4-year, $52.5 million contract

The Pittsburgh Steelers went back and forth with running back Le’Veon Bell for two years in an attempt to keep Bell on the team. But at long last the Steelers can finally get some closure on this dysfunctional relationship. Bell is set to sign with the New York Jets.

Bell’s career in Pittsburgh was a series of significant ups and downs. When Bell was on the field and healthy, he was one of the most versatile running backs in the league. He’s a great wide receiver and provided the Steelers a true dual-threat option.

Unfortunately, Bell was pretty unreliable. From 2015-2018 Bell missed 32 games with injuries, suspensions and a holdout. Bell made it very clear going back to 2017 he is far more interested in making a lot of money as opposed to being part of a team with the goal of the Super Bowl.

Now he can be the Jets problem. At some point, he’s going to once again feel like he’s underpaid and will create similar drama for his new team.
