Whenever there is trash talk between the Jets and Patriots, Jamal Adams always finds himself in the middle of it.
Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman posted on Instagram Thursday a timeline of his career against the Jets dating back to 2009. The post included three pictures of Edelman playing against the Jets; the final image included Adams. The image appeared to show Edelman making a stiff arm on Adams, but Adams let it be known what really happened on that play.
“I made the tackle,” Adams said in a comment under Edelman’s Instagram post.
Adams isn’t going to let much get past him when it comes to the plays he makes on the field. He wasn’t going to allow people to think that Edelman made a stiff arm on him knowing that wasn’t the case.
It’s just like when Adams received a fine for a hit he put on Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. He knew the entire time that his hit didn’t deserve a fine and when it got overturned by the league, Adams celebrated rightly so.
The 24-year-old is having another fine year in his third season out of LSU. In five games, Adams has 28 combined tackles, four pass defenses and a pick-six that came against the Patriots.
Adams is always motivated when he steps foot on the football field, but it’s safe to say he’ll have a chip on his shoulder come Monday night.
