The Jets have officially trimmed their roster down to 53 players.
The biggest surprise from the cuts was rookie OLB Jachai Polite, Mike Maccagnan’s third-round pick this year, and wide receiver Deontay Burnett, who had a strong performance against the Eagles on Thursday. Some other notable cuts were wide receiver Charone Peake, who has played a big role on special teams, and wide receiver Deonte Thompson. Meanwhile, the Jets are rolling with two quarterbacks after cutting both Davis Webb and Luke Falk.
