Another week, another Jets loss and mostly no-show performance by their 2019 rookie class.
New York got embarrassed by the Browns on Monday night football, failing to get anything going on either side of the ball throughout the game. To make matters worse, Gang Green’s rookie class contribute almost nothing to the cause with the exception of one player.
So, how do New York’s rookie stack up after Week 2? Let’s take a look in the latest edition of Jets Wire’s rookie power rankings.
No. 5: OT Chuma Edoga

Last Week: No. 4
Edoga was inactive for the second consecutive week. Barring an injury to either Kelvin Beachum or Brandon Shell, expect that to continue for the foreseeable future.
No. 4: DT Quinnen Williams

Williams was inactive on Monday night due to an ankle injury. As a result, he drops two spots in the rankings.
It remains to be seen how long New York’s first-round pick will be sidelined. The Jets have the depth on the defensive line to make up for Williams’ absence, but the unit is better off with the Alabama product healthy and contributing.
No. 3: TE Trevon Wesco

Last Week: No. 3
Wesco didn’t appear in the box score for the second consecutive game, but at least he was active against the Browns.
Tight ends have not factored much into Adam Gase’s offense so far this season. With Wesco serving primarily as a blocker, he is unlikely to see many targets in the passing game. He can still make an impact as a run blocker, but Wesco has yet to stand out on film in that area.
No. 2: DT Kyle Phillips

Last Week: No. 2
Phillips was active for the first time in his professional career against the Browns. He didn’t do much, but did contribute one quarterback pressure on Baker Mayfield.
Phillips has the potential to be a solid depth piece for New York. It says a lot that the Jets plugged him in over John Franklin-Myers on the active roster with Quinnen Williams out.
No. 1: LB Blake Cashman

Last Week: No. 1
Cashman was New York’s only rookie to see extended playing time against the Browns and he made the most of it.
The fifth-round pick out of Minnesota finished second on the team in tackles with six tackles. He also added 1.5 TFLs and 0.5 sacks.
With both C.J. Mosley and Avery Williamson out, Cashman stepped up big-time against the Browns. His efforts weren’t enough to save New York’s defense, but Cashman definitely earned himself increased playing time with his performance in Week 2.
