Jets RB Le’Veon Bell becomes fastest player in NFL history to reach 8,000 yards from scrimmage

It didn’t take long for Le’Veon Bell to make history with his new team.

On his first carry as a Jet, Bell ran for five yards and became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 8,000 yards from scrimmage. It took him only 63 games to reach the milestone.

Throughout his NFL career, Bell has been an electric dual-threat out of the backfield. In only five seasons with the Steelers, he accumulated 5,336 rushing yards and 2,660 receiving yards.

Considering Bell sat out all of last season, he could have achieved this feat a year ago. His accomplishment highlights how much the Steelers used him on the ground and through the air during his time in Pittsburgh.

At only 27 years old, Bell has plenty of yards left in him. With the Jets planning on using him heavily, Bell will have the opportunity to reach many more milestones before his time with Gang Green is up.
