Jets’ Randall Cobb Hit With Big Fine for Blindside Block vs. Giants, as Aaron Rodgers Predicted

After Randall Cobb was hit with a penalty for a blindside block on Giants safety Bobby McCain, his longtime Packers-turned-Jets teammate Aaron Rodgers nailed what would happen next.

“Cobby lost all his f—ing training camp money,” Rodgers exclaimed in the huddle after the penalty, a moment caught on HBO’s Hard Knocks

“What are you doing, bro? This ain’t 2014,” he continued. “I blacked out. … I haven’t been able to hit nobody in a while,” Cobb responded.

As Rodgers predicted, the NFL didn’t look kindly upon Cobb’s violent hit back on Aug. 26. On Saturday evening, the league levied a $13,889 fine against Cobb, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero

Cobb, who is in his first season with New York, is on a one-year deal worth $3 million total. The 13-year veteran is set to push his career earnings over $72 million with the Jets contract.

According to Spotrac, this is just his third career fine, and his second for a blindside block against the Giants. In 2019, as a member of the Cowboys, he was fined $28,075 for a hit during Dallas’s Week 9 win against their NFC East rival.
