Jets pick up former Bears guard

The Jets have added some depth to their offensive line in the early days of the offseason.

The team announced Thursday that it signed free agent guard Jordan Morgan. He is the eighth player the Jets have signed so far in the offseason.

The 24-year-old lineman was a fifth-round pick by the Chicago Bears in 2017 out of Kuztown University of Pennsylvania. Morgan played in all four of the Bears’ preseason games in 2017 but landed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. Ultimately, that ended his season.

Morgan bounced back in 2018 and played in four of the five preseason games. However, he was cut right before the start of the season. In October, the Tennessee Titans picked Morgan up for their practice squad, but he only lasted eight weeks.

Morgan has yet to play in a regular season game, but the Jets are hoping he can add depth to the trenches as they figure out their offensive line.
