Jets pegged as underdogs on the road vs. Jaguars

Oddsmakers didn’t give Gang Green much of a chance against the Patriots last week. Even so, the Jets exceeded expectations, in the worst way, by failing to score in a 33-0 shutout.

That is why it comes as no surprise that the odds are stacked against the Jets yet again as they prepare to travel to Jacksonville for Week 8.

As it stands, New York is a 5.5-point underdog vs. the 3-4 Jaguars. The Jets, at 1-5, are quickly losing a grip on the season. Oddsmakers seem to agree, as they have slotted the Jets at -106 against the spread, +200 in the money line and have set the total over-under at 40.5 points, per BetMGM.

Jacksonville, as 5.5-point favorites, currently see advantageous odds of -115 in the spread and -250 in the money line.

Oddsmakers predict that the total will fail to eclipse the 40.5-point mark that has been set. The odds are -125 for the over and +105 for the under.

It is important to note that the NFL trade deadline is Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. and teams have already begun to shake up the landscape of the league. The Jaguars already traded star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for draft picks. It has also been rumored that teams have are interested in Jets’ speedster Robby Anderson as the deadline looms.

With Week 8 quickly approaching, both teams could wind up looking slightly different by way of the trade deadline. If that were to be true, look for the odds to shift ahead of Sunday’s matchup.
