Jets move to replace Devlin

CONFIRMED: Cameron Devlin has finalised a transfer to Scotland.

THE Newcastle Jets will step up their search for a defensive midfielder after Cameron Devlin has a UK visa application approved, paving the way for a move to Scottish Premier League club Hearts.

The 23-year-old signed a two year deal with the Jets in June, but has since triggered a buyout clause. reported to be less than $100,000.

"The visa has been approved so now we're just trying to get him over here," Hearts manager Robbie Neilson told the Edinburgh Evening News. "We are hopeful of getting him in as soon as we can. It depends on whether he needs to isolate but it has all been authorised."

Devlin had been central to Arthur Papas' rebuild at the Jets and replacing the Olyroo is now a priority.

Mo Al-Taay has impressed in the pre-season but is yet to play in the A-League. Angus Thurgate and late-season arrival Jordan O'Doherty can fill the role, but are more adept further forward, while Ben Kantarovski is making a slow comeback from surgery.
