As we count down until Newcastle's A-League Women's season kicks off against Sydney at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday, the Newcastle Herald has gone one-on-one with the Jets to find out more about each footballer.
Bethany Gordon played with Canberra United a few seasons back but has had limited opportunity in the league.
The 21-year-old midfielder was key for Macarthur in NSW National Premier Leagues Women's this year and Jets coach Ash Wilson has been impressed by her "great work-rate and clear technical quality".
"She had consistent and impressive performances when playing for Macarthur and she has also played in the W-League, in Denmark, and toured with the Young Matildas," Wilson said.
"She brings a level of experience and composure into the squad and a strong competitive drive that will add value to our environment."
NH: What was your first club, and how old were you?
BG: My first ever club was my school club, Coverdale Christian College, and I was five or six.
NH: What do you do off the field?
BG: It's in a holding process at the moment because I've moved up to Newcastle, but I've started my own little clothing business with my mum and my sister. I've always wanted to do my own thing. I've also just started an entrepreneurship course. I spend a lot of time with my dogs and I like being outside and active.
NH: What music, if any, is playing on game day?
BG: I don't generally listen to music on game day, to be honest.
NH: What television series, if any, are you addicted to?
BG: My boyfriend and I did just sit down and watch all of Love Island.
NH: What can't you live without?
BG: My dogs.
NH: Do you have any pre-match habits?
BG: I like to be very basic and minimal, so no routine. I wake up and get ready, get to the pitch and just go with the flow.
Our next player profile is one of Newcastle's two imports this season - Norwegian Marie Dolvik Markussen.
