Jets’ Le’Veon Bell says he will play vs. Giants

New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell was limited in practice this week as the result of a sore knee/ankle and when the final injury report was released on Friday, the veteran was given a questionable designation.

However, late on Saturday evening, Bell ended the suspense and declared himself good to go against the New York Giants in Week 10.

Avoiding Bell would have been a tremendous benefit for the Giants, who have struggled to stop the run over the past month and can’t cover anyone out of the backfield to save their collective lives.

In his one and only appearance against the Giants (2016), Bell gained 118 yards on 29 carries, adding six receptions for 64 yards.

Similar numbers on Sunday would be a safe bet for Bell, who presents a real challenge for the Giants defense and a matchup nightmare for defensive coordinator James Bettcher, who doesn’t appear to have the personnel necessary to stop dual-threat backs.
