More details have emerged regarding a May 25 incident in which Jets running back Le’Veon Bell alleged that two of his girlfriends stole over half a million dollars worth of jewelry from him.
Audio from 911 stemming from the incident has emerged via TMZ. In his call to authorities, Bell says he left the two women naked in his bed in his Florida home before they stole from him.
“Well, I had two girls in my house. And I got up, and I did my normal routine to go to work out. So I left the workout for a couple hours,” Bell said on the phone. “When I came back, they took my money, they took my watch, my jewelry, a couple more of my things of value out of my house. I don’t know where they’re at. I tried to call them before I called you guys. I tried to call them and they’re not answering me, and they’re ignoring me.”
When asked to restate what was stolen from the house, Bell estimated the value of the items stolen was around $1 million. He also said that the women were mixed race and naked when he left his home. According to Bell, one of the women was 23 and darker-skinned.
“When I left, she was in the bed not wearing clothes … so I didn’t see her, when she [left the house],” Bell said.
Bell described the other woman, 21, as lighter skin. She was also naked in the bed when Bell left for his morning workout.
“The same way,” Bell said. “She was in the bed, too. They didn’t have clothes on.”
After joining the Jets for mandatory OTAs earlier this month, Bell has since returned to his Florida home to resume his offseason training before New York kicks off training camp in late July. This time around, Bell would be wise not to leave any naked women lying in his bed when he leaves in the morning to prepare for the upcoming season.
