Jets LB Brandon Copeland to sue company that sold him ‘contaminated’ supplement

Jets linebacker Brandon Copeland is going after the company that he claims sold him a supplement containing a banned substance.

Copeland plans on filing a lawsuit in the state of New Jersey against the company that he said sold him a “contaminated” supplement. That ultimately led him to getting a four-game suspension from the NFL. The supplement that Copeland received was recommended to him by a nutritionist. He seems to think he got a “bad batch” and is not going to stand for it.

“It was a blow to me,” Copeland told reporters. “I’m not going to stand up here and act like I’m not pissed off.”

Whether Copeland wins his lawsuit or not, it’s not going to take back his suspension. But he feels the company should pay for the salary that he missed out on.

The 28-year-old was expected to be one of the starting outside linebackers this season alongside Jordan Jenkins. However, the suspension put a wrench in those plans, and now he has to fight his way back into the rotation.

Copeland had a breakout season in 2018. He started in 10 games and had 35 combined tackles, five sacks and two passes defensed.

Copeland will be back for the Jets when they take on the Cowboys this Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
