Jets injury report: Trumaine Johnson returns to practice

Jets cornerback Trumaine Johnson took a major step forward in his recovery from a hamstring injury Tuesday.

Johnson was able to put his helmet and pads back on and participate in 7-on-7 drills. However, Johnson didn’t participate in team drills. With the Jets thin at cornerback, the Jets can’t afford to have Johnson miss any significant time and taking it easy with him. He was a having a strong camp before going down with the injury and the hope is that he’ll be ready to go for Week 1.

The Jets also got good news with their offensive line. Both Brian Winters and Kelechi Osemele participated in team drills alongside Ryan Kalil. It was the first time all camp that the Jets had all five starting offensive lineman on the field at the same time.

In other news, Robby Anderson has a calf injury and is day-to-day, while Brandon Bryant is in concussion protocol. Rontez Miles is also day-to-day with a hip injury.
