Jets injury report: Sam Darnold to get more tests Tuesday, Henry Anderson suffers shoulder injury

Jets quarterback Sam Darnold will get more tests Tuesday to find out the state of his enlarged spleen.

Adam Gase spoke to the media Monday and announced that Darnold will get tests done Tuesday morning to see if he can play on Sunday against the Cowboys. If Darnold is cleared by doctors, he will start Sunday’s game. Darnold was limited in practice last week, but was not cleared for contact. If Darnold does play, he will likely wear protective padding on his spleen just in case.

One new injury that popped up was defensive lineman Henry Anderson. He left Sunday’s game against the Eagles with a shoulder injury. Anderson was diagnosed with a sprained AC joint, per the Daily News. Gase said he’s week-to-week and it will be up to him how much pain he can tolerate in order to play.

As for linebacker C.J. Mosley, Gase said he is “close” to returning from his groin injury, but doesn’t know if he’ll practice on Wednesday. Mosley hasn’t played since Week 1 against Buffalo.
