Jets injury report: Sam Darnold has toenail removed

Sam Darnold’s performance against the Patriots wasn’t the worst thing that happened to him Monday night. After losing four interceptions and a fumble, the quarterback is also down a toenail.

Adam Gase spoke to the media Tuesday and said that Darnold had one of his toenails removed after suffering an injury in Monday’s 33-0 loss to the Patriots. Gase expects Darnold to be fine and should be able to practice this week in preparation for the Jaguars.

C.J. Mosley made his return Monday from a groin injury, but did not look the same at all. He had no burst in his step and looked to be favoring the groin still. Gase said Mosley is sore and the Jets will monitor him throughout the week.

As for Ryan Kalil, he suffered an elbow injury but was able to come back in the game with a sleeve on. He is day-to-day. Trenton Cannon is still dealing with a foot injury and will get another MRI. Kelvin Beachum (ankle) and Chris Herndon (hamstring) are both progressing and the hope is to get them on the practice field this week.
