Jets Injury Report: Quincy Enunwa tweaks groin, Leonard Williams sidelined again

Tuesday was not a good day on the injury front for the Jets, as two wide receivers came up gimpy during practice and a starter on the defensive line sat out with an injury of his own.

Quincy Enunwa left practice with a possible groin injury, coming up lame after battling with Trumaine Johnson on a deep ball. Jay Bellamy also injured his leg and was forced to the sideline for a while, but eventually returned to the field once Enunwa went down.

The severity of Enunwa’s injury has yet to be determined. However, the Jets will likely be cautious with him moving forward. Enunwa is a vital part of New York’s passing attack and is fresh off a four-year contract extension. Adam Gase and company will not rush him back into action if there is no need to do so.

On the defensive side of the ball, Leonard Williams sat out with hip irritation for the second consecutive practice. Fellow defensive lineman Steve McLendon returned to practice on Tuesday after missing camp on Monday to attend to a personal matter. Marcus Maye also remained sidelined with a shoulder injury that has plagued him since last season.
