Jets injury report: QB Trevor Siemian out for year, leaving Luke Falk to start

The Jets have lost yet another quarterback. This time it’s for the rest of the season.

Adam Gase announced Tuesday that Trevor Siemian is out for the season with an ankle injury. He tore ligaments in his ankle in Monday’s loss to the Browns when he was bulldozed by Cleveland’s Myles Garrett. Siemian is expected to undergo surgery.

Luke Falk will be the Jets’ starting quarterback until Sam Darnold returns from mononucleosis, though the Jets are in the process of adding another quarterback in the interim. Darnold was in the building on Tuesday, which is a step in the right direction. Doctors have to clear him first before he begins practicing again, though.

In other injury news, outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins is week-to-week with a calf injury, as is wide receiver Demaryius Thomas with a hamstring issue. Gase did not say if they will be able to play on Sunday against the Patriots.

The Jets did get some good news with C.J. Mosley (groin) and Quinnen Williams (ankle). Both have been upgraded to day-to-day after missing Monday’s game against the Browns.
