Jets injury report: Kelvin Beachum goes for MRI, Albert McClellan has concussion

The already snake-bitten Jets did not leave Sunday’s win over the Cowboys unscathed.

LT Kelvin Beachum left the game with an ankle injury and was replaced by Brandon Shell, who had no prior experience playing at left tackle. He will go for an MRI on Monday morning. Beachum has dealt with his fair share of lower-leg injuries with Gang Green.

It will be problematic if Beachum is forced to miss any time. Conor McDermott is listed as his backup on the team’s official depth chart, but he was just recently claimed off waivers from Buffalo. Beachum’s usual replacement, Brent Qvale, is currently on New York’s reserve/injured list.

Meanwhile, backup MLB Albert McClellan suffered a concussion.

He came into the game for LB Neville Hewitt, who left with an undisclosed injury. Hewitt was forced to go back in once McClellan was placed in the concussion protocol. He was not listed as having an injury postgame.

Fortunately for New York, it has an extra day to recover and get healthy as the Jets play on Monday Night Football in Week 7.
