Chief executive Shane Mattiske hopes the Newcastle Jets can benefit from the Matildas' record showing of support last week when the club hosts the first of only two double-headers this A-League season.
The Jets women kick off proceedings when they play Wellington at 5.05pm at McDonald Jones Stadium on Friday. The men's match against Phoenix follows at 7.45pm.
Last Tuesday night, a Newcastle Matildas record crowd of 20,495 turned out at the venue to watch Australia draw 1-1 with world No.1 USA in a thrilling spectacle.
"It was great to see such a strong crowd there and that demonstrates the strength of football in the area," Mattiske said.
"Given it is the first match for our women's team in Newcastle, we're hoping we get a lot of those people along for the match."
Jets membership hit 5000 at the start of November and Mattiske said that figure has now reached 6400 as the club continues to moves through a rebuilding phase with financial stability and sustainability the key focus.
There is free entry for kids 12 years and under to all Jets games.
The club will host another double-header at McDonald Jones Stadium on January 30. The Jets women will play their remaining home games at No.2 Sportsground.
The Jets men produced a spectacular fightback on Saturday night to come from 2-0 down and draw 2-2 with Sydney at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in a pulsating clash.
Newcastle's women opened their season with a 3-1 loss against the Sky Blues earlier on Saturday.
"It's a great value event in terms of the ability to watch our women with new local stars and international stars now but also a men's team that has got great momentum at the moment," Mattiske said.
