Jets have highest percent chance of losing out entering Week 11

As the race for Trevor Lawrence and the No. 1 overall pick heats up, the Jets have the highest chance of losing out.

The 0-9 Jets have a 14% chance of losing out, according to ESPN. The only team that is in striking distance of the Jets is the Jaguars (1-8), who have a 13.6% of losing out.

New York’s best chance of pulling off its first victory of the season came against the New England Patriots in Week 9. However, the Jets blew a 10-point lead with under five minutes remaining to stay winless heading into the bye week.

The Jets’ remaining schedule includes the Chargers on Sunday, followed by the Dolphins, Raiders, Seahawks, Rams, Browns and Patriots. According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, that ranks as the seventh strongest schedule remaining among NFL teams this season. For comparison, the Jaguars rank No. 4 in strength of schedule.

The Jaguars host the undefeated Steelers on Sunday before rounding out their season against the Browns, Vikings, Titans, Ravens, Bears and Colts.

New York has very real competition for the No. 1 overall pick in Jacksonville and both teams will likely be in the quarterback market with Lawrence waiting in the wind.

Week 11 could be a winnable game for the Jets against the Chargers (2-7). Los Angeles’ record is a bit deceiving, though, as all seven of their losses this season have come by single digits.
