Jets have easiest remaining schedule in the NFL

The Jets don’t have a lot of things going their way at the moment, but at least the road ahead isn’t so bad.

According to ESPN’s Mike Clay, the Jets have the easiest remaining schedule in the entire NFL. That is based on the Jets’ strength of schedule for the rest of the season, not just a few games in the middle of the schedule that may be difficult.

The next three games for the Jets won’t be easy, as they will take on the Eagles, Cowboys and Patriots. The Eagles are the worst of those three teams at 1-2, while the Patriots and Cowboys have yet to lose a game. However, following those three games, the schedule is in the Jets’ favor.

They’ll play both Florida football teams in the Jaguars and the Dolphins. Jacksonville is 1-2 on the year playing with a backup quarterback, while the Dolphins are in full tank mode in 2019. Then, the Jets will play the Giants and Redskins, who are at the bottom of the NFC East.

Following those three games, the Jets will have a three-game stretch against the Raiders, Bengals and Dolphins. These teams have combined to win one game so far this season. It gets a little tougher for the final three games of the season with the Ravens and Bills, both they’ll be on the road with the Steelers mixed in between.

Before we can say that the Jets should win any of these games, they need to get healthy. That’s the No. 1 priority at the moment. But is it possible that they can be in the playoff discussion in November and December? Actually, yes. Look at the Colts from last season. They were 1-5 and rallied off nine out of 10 games to get into the playoffs.

The Jets aren’t the Colts, but anything can happen in the NFL, and Gang Green’s schedule shouldn’t hurt them.
