Jets' Forte appears to be better, but will he play vs. Patriots?

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. _ The Jets' running back situation was cleared up slightly on Thursday when starter Matt Forte was a limited participant in practice. Forte, who missed the last two games with a turf toe injury, indicated that he's feeling better.

Forte stopped himself of saying he will play in Sunday's game against the Patriots, but said he wants to.

"I just go full speed like I know how and if I feel good, I'll take it from there," he said.

Backup Bilal Powell missed his second consecutive day of practice with a strained calf. Coach Todd Bowles is uncertain about Powell and Forte's playing status for Sunday. At this stage, it appears Forte will be ready to return to the lineup.
