Jets final injury report rules out 3 key starters, several others questionable

The Cleveland Browns are going to be shorthanded on Monday night in New York, with four players already ruled out. Their hosts are similarly going to be without some critical components to their team.

The Jets had already ruled out starting QB Sam Darnold. He was diagnosed with mononucleosis this week and will miss at least one game. After Saturday’s practice, the Jets also officially confirmed starting LB C.J. Mosley and DT Leonard Williams will miss the Monday Night Football date.

Those are huge losses for the Jets. Mosley is the leader of the defense and makes the signal calls. Remember, they’re already without another starting LB since Avery Williamson was placed on IR in preseason. Williams is the team’s best lineman and led the team in TFLs and QB hits a year ago.

In addition, they have several important players listed as questionable. From Jets Wire,

As for Le’Veon Bell, he is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, but he has already said that he will be playing on Monday. Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas was not able to practice on Saturday but is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. Kelvin Beachum (ankle), Brian Winters (shoulder), Braxton Berrios (hamstring), Steve McLendon (hip) and Alex Lewis (undisclosed) are all questionable as well.

The war of attrition is already well underway in the NFL.
