Jets favored in redemption game vs. Dolphins

The last time the Jets faced Miami, they were beaten by an AFC East rival that had yet to record a win. This time, New York owns the home field advantage and oddsmakers have indicated that’s all the insurance they need.

New York is coming off a head-scratching loss to the Bengals. Like the Dolphins earlier this year, Cincinnatti was winless before playing the Jets.

Miami, however, is coming off an impressive victory over the Eagles in Week 13. The Dolphins’ 37-31 upset was still not enough to earn them the betting nod this week against a team they have already defeated, though.

As it stands the Jets are slated as 5.5-point favorites heading into Sunday, per BetMGM. Gang Green holds a money line of -239, sits at -110 in the spread and the over-under is set at 44.5 total points.

Miami, as 5.5-point underdogs, possesses a money line of +195 and is -110 against the spread.

Oddsmakers seem to believe Sunday’s AFC East rivalry won’t be a display of offensive genius, as the under is favored at -121.

As to where each team sits in the division, the Jets are third with a 4-8 record. The Dolphins are close behind at 3-9 after losing their first seven contests.

Gang Green will host Miami on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and, if the odds indicate anything, the two will be splitting this season’s share of matchups.
