Jets cut kicker Kaare Vedvik after Week 1

That didn’t take long.

After missing an extra point and a 45-yard field goal in the Jets’ 17-16 loss to the Bills on Sunday, New York has released kicker Kaare Vedvik.

The Jets signed Vedvik after the Vikings released him prior to the start of the regular season.

The Vikings gave up a fifth-round pick to acquire Vedvik from the Ravens after the second preseason game. Despite two strong preseasons with the Ravens, Vedvik went just 1-for-4 with the Vikings in two preseason games and ended up losing the job to Dan Bailey.

The Jets signed former Packers kicker Sam Ficken to replace Vedvik.
