Jets complete interview with Terry Fontenot, Eagles VP Joe Douglas up next on Sunday

Another day, another general manager candidate interview in the books for Adam Gase and Christopher Johnson.

The Jets wrapped up their interview with New Orleans Saints Director of pro scouting Terry Fontenot on Saturday. Fontenot was the second candidate to interview for New York’s general manager position, as Seattle Seahawks Co-Director of player personnel Scott Fitterer preceded him as the first to interview on Thursday and Friday.

Next up for the Jets is arguably the most important interview of the whole process, as Philadelphia Eagles vice president of player personnel Joe Douglas comes to town. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Douglas had dinner with the team on Saturday night. However, Sunday will be the day Douglas meets with both Gase and Johnson to talk football.

If all goes well, New York’s general manager search could be over by the end of the weekend. Douglas is the favorite to land the job and if the Jets give him his desired control of the 53-man roster, there is a strong chance he signs on as Gang Green’s next GM.
