Jets complete interview with Eagles’ Joe Douglas

The New York Jets have reportedly completed their interview with Eagles VP of player personnel, Joe Douglas according to Jeff McLane of The Inquirer.com.

Douglas, who has been the Eagles’ vice president of player personnel since 2016, is the name most linked to the Jets job since they fired Mike Maccagnan on May 15. It’s unknown at this point if Douglas will accept the job, but Eagles brass has reportedly been bracing for his departure.

Douglas and Gase worked together for one season in 2015 with the Bears, and the two have reportedly remained close friends, giving the Eagles VP more insight into Gase than most people would normally have.

Douglas took over as the Eagles’ vice president of player personnel in 2016 when Roseman replaced Chip Kelly as the Eagles’ GM top decision maker. Douglas built his name under Ozzie Newsome, working as a Ravens’ scout from 2000-14.
