Jets claim OL Conor McDermott, waive DL Bronson Kaufusi

The Jets put their high waiver order priority to use on Friday by adding depth to their offensive line.

New York claimed Conor McDermott off waivers from the Bills and waived veteran defensive lineman Bronson Kaufusi as a corresponding move.

McDermott was a 2017 sixth-round selection by the Patriots. After failing to make New England’s 53-man roster The UCLA product caught on with the Bills and played in eight games for Buffalo from 2017-18. He was inactive in each of Buffalo’s first four games this season before being waived on Friday.

Playing in all three games for the Jets this season, Kaufusi had three tackles and 0.5 sacks. The veteran defensive end played six games for the Jets over the past two seasons.

Originally a third-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens, the 28-year-old will be looking for his third team now that he is a free agent.
