Jets’ C.J. Mosley out, three others questionable vs. Giants

Below is Friday’s official injury report for Sunday’s game between the New York Giants and the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

Giants

Three players did not practice on Friday and have been ruled out Sunday: wide receiver Sterling Shepard (concussion), tight end Evan Engram (foot) and center Jon Halapio (hamstring).

Right tackle Mike Remmers (back) also did not practice and is doubtful for Sunday’s game.

Head coach Pat Shurmur told reporters that Spencer Pulley will start in Halapio’ place and if Remmers cannot go, Nick Gates will be the right tackle.

“I’ve said all along, I’ve felt like we’ve had two starting centers on our roster,” Shurmur said. “It gives Spencer an opportunity to get in there and play. He played really well for us last year when he was in there. Then Nick Gates has done a really good job. In the event he’s playing in there, which he probably will be, I feel like he’ll do a good job.”

“It’s nice to be able to play anywhere on the line but I was focusing on wherever they wanted me to play,” Gates said. “Just being undrafted, you have to be able to be plugged in here and there. My goal was just to make the team and come in and make the team any way I could. That’s what I did.”

Jets

Linebacker C.J. Mosley (groin) has been ruled out  for Sunday. Defensive back Rontez Miles (neck/hip) has been ruled out  and placed on IR by the team.

Offensive lineman Ryan Kalil (knee), linebacker Neville Hewitt (neck/knee) and defensive back Darryl Roberts (calf) are all listed are doubtful.

Running back Le’Veon Bell (knee/ankle), defensive lineman Henry Anderson (shoulder), offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum (ankle), tight end Chris Herndon (hamstring), linebacker Jordan Jenkins (calf), defensive lineman Steve McLendon (neck), wide receiver Damaryius Thomas (hamstring) and offensive lineman Brian Winters (knee/shoulder) are all questionable.
