The Jets added the third piece to their ever-changing offensive line puzzle by agreeing to terms with former Broncos veteran Connor McGovern, the Daily News has learned. McGovern, who will turn 27 next month, inked a three-year, $27 million deal with $18 million fully guaranteed, according to a source.
McGovern started all 16 games at center for Denver last season. He also has experience starting at right guard. In all, the 6-4, 306-pound McGovern had 36 starts in the past three seasons. He was Denver's starting right guard to begin the 2018 season before sliding to center after the starter was injured. He stayed in the middle before cashing in with the Jets on Tuesday.
General manager Joe Douglas already signed tackle George Fant and re-signed guard Alex Lewis in the first two day of the NFL's legal tampering period.
Jonotthan Harrison, who started 10 games at center last year after the failed Ryan Kalil experiment, is under contract for one more season.
