Jets add offensive line, cornerback depth with 2 signings

The Jets have received early criticism for their lack of depth at multiple positions with training camp underway. To address some of these concerns, New York signed offensive lineman Ryan Anderson and cornerback Dee Delaney to their roster on Tuesday.

To make room for the new additions, Gang Green waived linebacker Jeff Allison and offensive lineman Toa Lobendahn. Both players were brought in as undrafted free agents in May. Now, they’ll be looking to start anew as the preseason quickly approaches.

Like those he now replaces, Anderson entered this offseason as an undrafted free agent. He signed with Miami after declaring for the draft out of Wake Forest. The 6-foot-6, 305-pound center started 15 games over the past two seasons and earned an All-ACC honorable mention.

Delaney, also formerly of the Dolphins, signed a reserve/future deal in January after ending 2018 on Miami’s practice squad. At 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, Delaney possesses the frame to compete at the next level. He began his NFL career with the Jaguars, where only played in two games before being scooped up by the Dolphins.
