Jets 3rd-round pick Chuma Edoga signs rookie contract

The Jets made it official with third-round pick Chuma Edoga on Thursday, as the USC offensive tackle signed his rookie contract with the team.

In four seasons at USC, Edoga played in 44 games and made 25 starts, 22 of them coming at right tackle the past two seasons. In 2017, Edoga made 12 starts at right tackle protecting quarterback Sam Darnold. Edoga also played left tackle at USC, making him a versatile option for the Jets on the outside of the offensive line.

Edoga missed the beginning of Adam Gase’s rookie orientation as he finished up his degree from USC. By the end of spring practices, Edoga was seeing time with the first-team offense.

Edoga is the fifth member of New York’s 2019 draft class to sign his rookie deal. Only first-round pick Quinnen Williams remains unsigned.
