Jet2 to restart flights and holidays in July with safety measures in place

Jet2 have announced that they will restart their flights and holiday programmes from next month.

The airline has said that it will resume flights from July 15.

The company has said that it has taken the decision 'in view of the ongoing travel restrictions that are in place as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic'.

Customers who were due to travel before July 15 are being contacted to discuss their holiday and whether they want to rebook for a later date.

Anyone who has flights book to depart on or after July 15 will be able to travel as normal.

A statement by the airline says that they will be introducing a range of safety measures on their aircraft and transfer vehicles.

It adds: "We are also working closely with airport, hotel and tourist board partners to ensure that appropriate health and safety measures are implemented. Further details will be announced in due course."

A compulsory 14-day quarantine will be in place for travellers entering Scotland from today.

The regulations apply to people who live in Scotland who are returning from outside the UK as well as to visitors.

Anyone found not to be following the guidance face a find of £480.

From June 8, the rules for Scotland mean that anyone who entering the county will be asked to quarantine for 14-days.

Border Force will check that travellers fill out a form with their contact details and location for isolation.

Failure to complete the form giving details about where the person will live for two weeks will also be punishable by a £100 fixed penalty notice.

The measure will be reviewed by the UK Government on June 29 but its enforcement is determined by devolved administrations.
