Jet2 to announce more than 270 weekly flights in Greece summer expansion

Jet2 is set to make some holiday makers pretty happy as it expands its flights and holidays selection to Greece

The airline will now be able to fly to Athens, Crete (Heraklion and Chania), Corfu, Kefalonia, Lesvos, Mykonos, Skiathos, Santorini, Kos, Kalamata, Preveza, Rhodes, Halkidiki and even Zante.

Speaking to the Trade Travel Gazette, a Jet2 spokesperson said: "Just as we always do, we have responded very quickly to demand, increasing capacity and adding more flights.

“As such, we are looking forward to a fantastic summer 2022 programme, with more than one million additional seats on sale compared to summer 2019.

"We now have more than 2.3 million outbound and inbound seats on sale between Greece and our 10 UK bases for summer 2022.”

There's plenty of holidays customers could get their hands on as Jet2 is currently offering a pretty big deal.

Jet2's Bid for a Break competition has been running since August, with the Leeds-based airline giving away dream holidays to the lowest bidder - but only if their bid is unique.

So that means if you bid just a penny and someone else does too, you won't win the dream trip.

With this pretty fab competition, one customers has just managed to bag a five-star luxury holiday for just 70p.

It's been a difficult year for the airline company as Jet2 reported losses of £373m thanks to the pandemic.

Executive chairman Philip Meeson said: "The pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on Jet2 plc and the Leisure Travel industry as a whole,"

"Extensive restrictions... meant our aircraft fleet was fully grounded for approximately 29 weeks of the financial year and operated with a significantly reduced programme when flying was permitted."

But despite the uncertainty, Jet 2 has just started flying from Bristol Airport this year - its tenth UK base.
