Jet2 planes grounded for another two months as all flights are cancelled until mid-June

Jet2 have cancelled all flights and package holidays for the next two months as it anticipates further uncertainty caused by coronavirus.

Holidaymakers who have holidays booked with the company before June 17 will be contacted in order of departure date to discuss their options regarding the cancellation.

Anyone who has booked flights through an online travel agent such as On the Beach, or loveholidays will need to get in touch with them directly.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is currently advising Britons not to travel abroad "indefinitely".

A spokesperson for Jet2 said: "In view of the ongoing uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have taken the decision to recommence our flights and holiday programme on June 17th.

"This means for customers travelling before this date, unfortunately your flights and holiday will not be operating.

"We will be contacting all affected customers to discuss their options, one of which is rebooking to a later date. We are contacting customers and dealing with all existing queries in departure date order, which we believe is the fairest way to handle this.

"The number of calls we have been receiving is unprecedented, so you do not need to make contact with us.

"Please do bear with us, and we thank customers in advance for their loyalty, understanding and patience.

"Although these are difficult times for everyone, the sun will come out again. When it does, our award-winning teams will be there to take customers on holiday - a well-deserved package holiday they can trust - once again."
