Jet2 offers latest update for passengers with flights and holidays booked this summer

Jet2 has reviewed its guidelines for customers with flights booked this summer as the coronavirus pandemic continues to hit travel plans.

The airline has already shut down all flights but claimed it would recommence services from mid-June.

However, it has offered an update for passengers that have flights booked with the leisure carrier, BirminghamLive reports.

For anyone with a flight booked after June 17, which is the day Jet2 stated it would resume its summer programme, customers will be subject to its normal terms, conditions and cancellation policy.

Although Jet2 bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, changes can be made for an administration fee (plus any difference in price of fare). This is standard unless any alterations, such as further flight cancellations, are made by the airline.

If flights are transferred to another passenger by the customer and the name on the booking is changed, alterations are liable to a £35 per person per journey charge.

Flights after June 17 have not yet been cancelled, so any changes made by customers to travel plans makes them liable.

Bookings for any trips after that date are currently unaffected and flights will operate as normal.

Jet2 has stressed it is continuously reviewing the situation, and travel advice may change for customers who have holidays booked for late June, July, August and September.

In a statement to passengers, it said: "We understand that you may have concerns about your flight(s). The health and safety of our customers is always our number one priority, so we’re continuing to monitor the situation very closely and will adjust our programme accordingly where necessary."
