Jet2 has issued a warning for travellers arriving in the UK on Friday ahead of planned strike action by UK Border Force staff.
Border Force staff will be among more than 130,000 civil service workers in the PCS union going on strike on Friday, April 28. Members of the union are in a dispute over pay, pensions, job security, and redundancies.
The strikes are expected to cause significant disruptions across the country, with the Home Office advising passengers to stay up to date on advice from travel operators. Meanwhile, Jet2 is warning travellers of longer queues at Passport Control due to fewer Border Control staff being on hand.

On its website, Jet2 said: "Due to industrial action supported by UK Border Force staff on 28 April there may be fewer border control staff when you arrive in the UK and longer queues at Passport Control. We hope this strike action does not cause you too much inconvenience.
"We will continue to monitor the situation and update this page of our website. If you need any help once at the airport, a member of our Friendly Red Team will be happy to help."
The Home Office has similarly advised: "Our first priority is to keep our borders safe and secure. We will never compromise on this.
"Please be patient and respect officers who are working to keep our citizens safe and border secure, and supporting travellers during the strike action.”
PCS General Secretary Mark Serwotka said: "Our members are not backing down in this dispute. Ministers need to take notice that we’re escalating our action and they need to resolve the dispute by putting money on the table.
“We know our strikes have already caused serious disruption. The new strikes and another national day of action will pile the pressure on a government that refuses to listen.”
